Yesterday I left Finn painting in the kitchen and Bennett watching Max and Ruby in the lounge room while I nursed Jules. Five minutes, max. I felt secure knowing that law and order was in the hands of my very capable four year old. I Instagrammed the aftermath of that decision and I’m re-posting the photos here for your delight.
Finn was the whistle blower and when he came in to get me he seemed genuinely surprised by the whole thing. “Mommy! You have to come see this! You need to run!” But Bennett got so much painting done in that five minute rampage through the house and I still don’t understand how Finn didn’t see it all happening – he had time to make popcorn and pull up a chair as far as I can see.
And so, I assessed the damage and did what any good mommy blogger does when her son puts quick drying acrylic paint on the couch – I took photos. Then came time to clean up. And that’s where my trusty Bissell 3624 SpotClean Professional portable carpet cleaner comes in. Sometimes my Bissell is my favorite thing. This was one of those times. The Bissell has been the un-messer of a thousand messes since May 30, 2014, according to my Amazon purchase history.
I realize there’s only so many women who have small children and choose to buy white couches. But to those of you out there – I hear you. I care deeply for you. Buy the Bissell. #solidarity #thankmelater
If these pictures of Bennett seem familiar, it’s because this is the second time he has done this in as many months. Last time it was in the basement with our babysitter.
This is my cleaned chair (still wet) next to a dry un-painted chair.
I cleaned them both – this is dry. Zero evidence.
An hour of cleaning later and I still just want to eat him up.
