I’m forty this year. And as soon as I stop having to breathe into a paper bag whenever I say that out loud, I’ll tell you about how I’m feeling about it.

I have had to come to terms with the fact that my skin is no longer as bouncy and elastic as it was even ten years ago. As a non product girl for most of my life, I now have a skin care routine that I follow and I wear make up a lot more often than I used to.

What I put on my skin is important to me. I’ve always been careful not to use chemicals that might be toxic or harmful because I understand the science of skin and how chemicals are absorbed through it. The personal care industry is wildly unregulated, and it has taken a lot of research to figure out what I can and can’t use as part of my skincare and makeup routine.

I found a movement that is changing the way we look at the personal care industry. I’m really excited to be partnering with Follain over the coming months to introduce you to a brave new world of toxin-free face and body products.  Follain is a healthy beauty store with locations in Boston, Washington DC, and Nantucket. Follain curates only the best (healthy, proven, pure, pleasing) personal care products, leading a movement toward widespread change. Some of the brands Follain works with are: Tammy Fender, Goop, Yarok, French Girl Organics, Herbivore Botanicals, Farmaesthetics, Stewart & Claire, Ilia and so many more.

Follain is on a mission, and I’m so excited to be a part of it. PS: If you aren’t here on the east coast, everything is available to you online (except for the experience of walking into one of their gorgeous stores.)

I’ll be posting my first post in partnership with Follain in March.
