SPA AT HOME WITH FOLLAIN

We’re half way through Spring break. Having all three boys at home is keeping me busier than ever and some days I feel like I’m just putting out fires and falling in a heap as soon as Robbie gets home. If I don’t pay attention, the opportunity for mindful connection with the boys is easily lost in the busyness.

It’s important to take a break and come back to myself so that I am recharged for them.

Before children, we traveled to recharge. Got out of the city and into a hotel pool in Vegas or a spa in Palm Springs. I’d get a massage, read a good book on a deck chair with a margarita. Now we’re on the east coast, I’d love nothing more than to book a little beach cottage in the Hamptons or a cozy cabin in the Berkshires. But when you have three boys of wrecking-ball age, there’s not a person alive that will take your kids for a day, let alone a weekend.

So lately I don’t have a whole day to go to a spa, but once the boys are in bed I do have an hour. Our bathroom is my little getaway. I dim the lights, light a candle, take a shower, exfoliate, moisturize. The ritual makes me a less stressed mother and a happier wife.

Follain’s natural, toxin-free skincare products are perfect for creating a spa experience at home.

These are the products I’m loving this month:

Herbivore Coco Rose Body Polish + French Girl Rose Lip Polish

Finding a good body scrub has been hard for me. I find most of the natural options too greasy or too coarse. Herbivore Coco Rose is a coconut oil based body polish that is perfect for my dry New England winter skin. I’m using it with my BaudelaireΒ  Natural Sea Wool Sponge.

Lip polish is new for me. The French Girl lip polish is ultra hydrating for my chapped lips and smells like heaven.

The Follain Candle

I’m a candle snob. I’m sensitive to an ingredient in artificially scented candles. Please don’t buy me a Pumpkin Spice latte candle because it will literally give me a migraine in the time it takes me to unwrap it and put it in the trash.

The Follain candle uses essential oils like Bulgarian lavender, cedarwood and vanilla. #currentlyobsessed

Refillable Hand + Body Soap

Millions of pounds of plastic soap bottles are trashed in the U.S. annually. Solution – refill your soap bottles.

I just refilled all of my glass soap bottles with Follain’s divine all natural lavender soap. Follain’s pre-filled bottle is gorgeous. Buy it once then refill, refill, refill.

Word to the wise: I noticed that some of the products I reviewed (including the candle and the Follain soap!) are on sale as I write this. Remember to take 10% off your purchase through March 31 using the code FOLLAINFRIENDS

    Don’t you work for Aesop?

Nope – no affiliation whatsoever! Although I do love Aesop products! πŸ™‚

Awesome! Your bathroom is so cute too. Ahhh it looks so spacious thinking about my tiny NYC bathroom you can barely turn around 360 in. πŸ™

I’d trade my good camera angles for a NYC apartment though… πŸ™‚

Thanks for the heads up about the 10% discount. I will certainly take advantage so that I can try the body polish. I agree that we MUST look after ourselves if are to be able to give to others. Our families will benefit if we care about US, too.
I just love the idea that I can refill my bottles with this product. I think that we throw far too much packaging away. Everything is disposable and that’s just not good.
